Also, people are attracted by water sports, such as parasailing in Gran Canaria.

Among the water sports that are practised on the island, parasailing has become very popular over the last few years, causing numerous visitors to become curious and want to try this new modality

That is why today, with this article, we want to offer you all the information about parasailing: what it really is, how to do it or where to parasail in Gran Canaria.

What is parasailing?

Parasailing is an aquatic activity in which one or several people, attached to a parachute, are pulled by a boat.

The high speed at which the boat travels causes the parachute to rise, carrying the people on board over the water in an average flight, which can vary between 75 and 300 metres in altitude.

Maspalomas

The main tourist enclave on the island and where most of the leisure activities in the south of Gran Canaria are concentrated.

It’s a privileged area due to its geographical location, where you’ll be able to enjoy spectacular views of the surroundings of the Charca de Maspalomas (a proctected Pond), the Maspalomas Dunes and the Maspalomas Lighthouse.

It’s also an area where the presence of the wind during most of the year favours the practice of parasailing, as it’s easier to raise the parachute and keep it in the air for a longer period of time.

Puerto de Mogán

One of the most beautiful and charming areas of the island. In Puerto de Mogán you’ll be able to find all kinds of water activities such as jet skiing or buggy riding.

However, here you can also practise parasailing in Gran Canaria, with all the guarantees of safety.

If you want to enjoy privileged views, from a different perspective, of the whole of Puerto de Mogán and the cliffs of the Taurito area, this is the best place to do so.

Continuing along the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, we come across the legendary village of Arguineguín.
