StartGran CanariaGuayedra Beach

Guayedra beach, near the village of Agaete, is one of the most precious protected places on the island, as it has a singular flora and fauna, and great geological value. It is adjacent to the Barranco de Guayedra ravine and is one of the few beaches in Gran Canaria with palm trees and other plants which, together with its stones, black volcanic sand and surrounding cliffs, create a magnificent scenery worthy of visiting.

Guayedra is a nudist beach, one of the most beautiful and intimate of the island. The most common way to reach it is by foot, although it is not a simple journey. Normally, there are organized routes, that after passing through the canyons and mountains, reach this authentically Atlantic small cove of clear cold water. After a difficult stretch, reaching this place of calmness and enjoying a great sunset is the best reward for any tourist.

It is recommended to visit Guayedra beach when low tide, when the sea is calm, because in rough sea the power of Mother Nature could make it dangerous.

If you stay at Dunas Hotels & Resorts during your holidays, we suggest that you make plans to visit the north of the island for the day and end the route in the beautiful beach of Guayedra. It is an hour's drive from Maspalomas; once there, you’ll have to walk through the ravine of Guayedra until you reach this charming beach.

Since Guayedra beach is a pretty unknown place, there are not many tourists around. Nonetheless, we’d like to mention this option if you come to Gran Canaria with the idea of getting to know the unknown places to those who are not from the island. It's a great plan for any time of year; and during the autumn and winter seasons, it is even better, as temperatures are milder and make the walk down the ravine even more enjoyable.

We recommend that whenever you go, you do not miss the sunset. On clear days, you’ll be able to be part of a postcard which will include the view of a part of the island of Tenerife and the Teide volcano. It will truly impress you!
