Edeltraut Thiemt has been visiting Gran Canaria since the 80’s. Since she stayed at Dunas Hotels & Resorts for the first time, she has not chosen another hotel, Dunas Suites & Villas, her favourite hotel, where she feels at home.
What did you like the most during your first visit to Gran Canaria?
In that first visit, we tried to visit the whole island. We went for several excursions that we loved: Mogán, Puerto Rico, Arucas and its rum factory, Vecindario, Palmitos Park. We also went with the children to Aqualand, which we visit every time we come with them.
And what is that key place you would recommend to someone who is coming to Gran Canaria for the first time?
Maspalomas, of course. It is worth visiting even just to see those stunning dunes.
What is your favourite corner of the island?
I think Mogán is very pretty, little Venice. But where I am most comfortable is at Dunas Suites & Villas, I feel at home here.
How many times have you stayed with us at Dunas Hotels & Resorts?
I have stopped counting! But more than 15 times for sure. On one of our first visits, my husband twisted his ankle and the director at the time, Eduardo, was very kind. He helped us so that my husband could be more comfortable after the incident and that touched our hearts. We changed to a room closer to the entrance to make our way easier. He told us "I am always here for my guests" and that moved us.
Since then, both the place, which we love, and the employees, who are like friends for us by now, are our home and chosen family in Gran Canaria.
What do you like most about Dunas Suites & Villas?
I love the facilities, its green gardens and the Suites, which are very comfortable and very nice. I have my favourite one, in which I love to stay.
But, of course, also the staff: they are always very friendly and willing to help. They are praiseworthy.
Would you like to mention someone in particular?
At the beginning, were Karin and Rosa, who now work at Dunas Don Gregory. Here at the bar Rayco and Pili, for example. But, in general, all the members of the team are very friendly. We have stayed in other places but we haven’t found the same levels of professionalism.
