So now, we’d like to let you know where are the different markets and their timetables in Central and Northern Gran Canaria; they all have their own charm and native highlights.
Rastro
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. It is located in Parque Blanco (next to Parque de Santa Catalina) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This is a great Sunday plan in Gran Canaria’s marina district. Have a walk around its 300+ market stalls and then, enjoy a cold and refreshing beer and some tapas in any of the local bars around Parque de Santa Catalina.
Mendizabal (Vegueta) Street Market
Every third Saturday of the month. Located in Calle Mendizabal in Vegueta.
Moya Street Market
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. It is located at Moya’ bus station.
Arucas Outdoor Market
Arucas is a full of history stunning village of Gran Canaria. So much so, that every weekend many locals as well as tourists come to visit and enjoy admiring its beauty. Arucas market is very charming, and not only by the way it looks but by the type of products that can be purchased here. If you come to visit Gran Canaria, this is a good place to buy souvenirs or typical products of the local cuisine. Saturdays from 8:00 to 14:00. It is located in Calle Juan de Bethencourt, in Arucas.
Gáldar Street Market
Thursdays from 8:00 to 14:00. It is located in the Plaza de Santiago, Gáldar.
Jinámar Street Market
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. It is located in las Ramblas, Jinámar.
Tunte Street Market
Sundays from 9:00 to 13:00. It is located in Plaza de Santiago, Tunte.
Ecovalle. Valleseco’ organic market
Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 20:00 and Sundays from 9:00 to 14:00. It is located in Plaza Pastor José Hernández Acosta, in the old part of town, Valleseco.
San Mateo’ Street Market
San Mateo is an inland town that lives mainly of livestock and agriculture, therefore, their market is one of the most special food markets you will find on the island. Villagers usually shop here on weekends, and there are also many onlookers who come to the market of San Mateo, either to buy something specific or simply for a walk and to eat around the area. Saturdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and Sundays from 8:00 to 15:00. It is located in the Plaza of San Mateo.
Santa Brigida’ Street Market
Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 7:00 to 20:00 and Sundays from 7:00 to 14:00. It is located next to Santa Brigida’s park.
St. Lucia’ Street Market
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. Located at the entrance of the village of Santa Lucia.
Santa Maria de Guia’ Street Market
Tuesdays and Sundays from 8:30 to 13:00. Located opposite Santa Maria de Guia’s Town hall.
Telde’ Street Market
Saturdays from 7:00 to 14:00 in Calle Joan Miró, in the Plaza de San Gregorio, Telde. 2
Teror’ Street Market
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. Located around the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino in Teror.
Valsequillo’ Street Market
Sundays from 8:00 to 14:00. Located in Calle Isla de la Gomera in Valsequillo.
Santa Catalina’ Market
First Sunday of the month from 11:00 to 15:00, except for Carnival, July, August and September. It is located in the Art Gallery of Parque Santa Catalina in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
