Full visit of Gran Canaria in 4 days

10 Sep 2024

Gran Canaria is a unique destination that offers paradisiacal beaches, stunning landscapes, charming villages and a rich culture

In this article, you can discover a detailed route for you to make the most of your holiday and discover what you can see in Gran Canaria in 4 days.

Day 1: Explore Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Start your adventure in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by visiting the historic district of Vegueta, home to the Cathedral of Santa Ana and the Casa de Colón (House of Columbus).

Enjoy a hearty breakfast in one of the local cafés in the area. Stroll along Calle Triana, the main shopping street, with shops, bars, and restaurants where you can sample typical Canarian food.

Then get ready to relax on Las Canteras beach, snorkelling or strolling along the promenade, one of the longest in Europe. Finish the day with a dinner of fresh fish and seafood in the Mesa y Lopez area or Puerto de la Luz before returning to your adults-only hotel.

Day 2: Tour the north and interior of the island

For the second day, we recommend exploring the north and interior of the island, a less touristy area, but full of natural beauty. Start in Arucas, visiting the Church of San Juan Bautista and the Arehucas rum distillery. Then head to Firgas, famous for its artificial waterfall and Canary Islands promenade.

Continue to Teror, with its basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino and its typical balconies, ideal for tasting the ‘papas arrugadas con mojo’ (wrinkled potatoes with mojo). Return to your all-inclusive hotel for a leisurely dinner and a refreshing rest.

Day 3: Adventure in the sunny south

On the third day we recommend you explore the sunny south of the island. Start in Maspalomas, visiting the Maspalomas Dunes, a sandy desert by the sea, where you can stroll or take a camel ride.

Then head to Meloneras for lunch overlooking the sea, with fresh fish as a suggestion. Afterwards, enjoy Amadores beach, ideal for swimming or sunbathing.

End the day in Puerto de Mogán, a picturesque fishing village, located just a few kilometres from our hotel Mirador Maspalomas by Dunas, known as ‘Little Venice’, where you can dine and enjoy Canarian tapas by the sea.

Day 4: Discover the summit of Gran Canaria

On your last day, we suggest a route through the most mountainous area of the island, known as the ‘Cumbre’

Start with a hike to Roque Nublo for spectacular views, and then visit the picturesque village of Tejeda, famous for its almond trees and typical sweets, where we recommend having lunch and enjoying panoramic views of the majestic Roque Bentayga.

Continue to Pico de las Nieves, the highest point of the island, and finish the tour in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. End the day with a special dinner in a restaurant in Maspalomas or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, depending on your location, and rest from your last day on the island in a family-friendly hotel.
