Three of the best sunsets in Gran Canaria

The best sunsets in Gran Canaria

On an island with so many contrasts and beauty, it is difficult to choose which one is the most beautiful, but we have selected 3 wonderful sunsets in Gran Canaria that you cannot miss.

The island of Gran Canaria, is an exceptional tourist destination, an island full of contrasts, with a beauty marked by those differences. Beaches, mountains, canyons, city, forests ... and, of course, the Atlantic Ocean wherever you look. These characteristics make it a magical place to enjoy the sunsets.

It is very difficult to choose only three and it seems unfair qualifying them as the best categorically speaking, because everyone has its own point of view (we'll actually love that you share with us which one is your favourite sunset!), but we have dared to select three that surely won't leave whoever is enjoying Gran Canaria indifferent.

Sunset on the dunes of Maspalomas

Maspalomas Dunes Natural Reserve is already a very special icon of the island of Gran Canaria. Its 400 hectares of sand make it a magical place, an oasis of peace in the midst of one of the most active Canary Islands' tourist areas. Being still very close to the many hotels, restaurants, the beach of Maspalomas and the very active tourist leisure centres, once you get to the Dunes of Maspalomas, its silence instantly relaxes anyone, and you too will certainly enjoy the spectacular and peaceful sunset among its dunes.

Sunset on Playa de las Canteras

Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas, is one of the best urban beaches in the world. In addition to its more than 3 kilometres of beaches bordering the city, you can enjoy all-year-round spectacular sunsets on its sands and calm waters.

In addition, the sunsets on Las Canteras' beach often have magic and complicity of the silhouette of the Teide volcano on the neighbouring island of Tenerife.

Sunset at the Roque Nublo

Roque Nublo is a magical place on the island of Gran Canaria ever since the island's old aborigines times. It is a stunning nearly ninety meters high stone' monolith, that reigns in the centre of the island, which is reached after a nice journey through the landscape of the midlands and the summits of Gran Canaria.

If you go at the right time, you'll enjoy a sunset that will leave you speechless. You must take into account some proper footwear, a good jacket (temperatures drop drastically after sunset) and flashlights to the descent after sunset.

These are just three proposals, but what's your favourite spot to enjoy the sunset in Gran Canaria? You can share it with us on our social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We are looking forward to read your opinion!
