Thanks to the mild climate and great temperature of the island of Gran Canaria we are the first destination for those who’d like to run away from the cold and rainy winter and spring’ weather.
Certainly, many of our Dunas Hotels & Resorts’ guests come to Gran Canaria to enjoy the beaches; to relish in its daily tranquillity, or practice activities like going for walks or even just admiring all those places they had heard about Gran Canaria before coming here for the first time.
In the Canary Islands’ best beaches lists publicised every year, there are always some beaches from Gran Canaria; which is not surprising at all since some of our beaches are a dreamer’s dream.
Las Canteras, Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles are some of the best beaches in Gran Canaria. However, the list is much more extensive than that, and soon we’ll let you know about some others that are not popular among tourists as yet but definitely among people from the island, and which will pleasantly surprise anyone who visits them.
Playa de Las Canteras
Las Canteras is famous for being one of the best beaches in Spain. It is located in the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
It is a beach which stretches for more than three kilometres along the bay, with a natural volcanic strip about two hundred meters away from the sand that protects from the tides and it is one of its most singular features.
The ideal place to spend a family day, to sunbathe and even swimming accross to discover its close by volcanic barrier.
Maspalomas Beach is the most iconic and renowned beach in Gran Canaria. It is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, and besides being a very striking beach because of its length and tranquillity, the surrounding environment is truly the cherry on the cake.
It is located in a natural reserve of sand dunes, formed by the ocean and the wind.
This beach is a Must if you come to visit Gran Canaria. Coming to Dunas Hotels & Resorts, and not going to Maspalomas Beach, would be as if you had never came to Gran Canaria at all. Furthermore, our Dunas Suites & Villas Resort and Dunas Maspalomas Resort, are located just 10 minutes’ walk from this great paradise.
Playa del Inglés
Playa del Inglés runs next to Maspalomas beach and so it also shares the beauty of the Dunes, the amplitude of its shore and the tranquillity of its waters.
It is about three kilometres long and its great shore reaches a width of hundred meters. This makes it one of the great places for family reunions, since besides being a very quiet place, it also offers great atmosphere for the little ones.
