Gran Canaria is even known as the island of golf; as it was the cradle of Spanish golf. The first ever Golf Club was founded back in 1891, the renowned Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas. The first golf course of the Real Club was built in the so-called El Lomo del Polvo, now known as the Altavista and Escaleritas neighbourhood, however, due to the great expansion of the capital city, in 1957 the course was moved to La Caldera de Bandama, an 800 meters’ diameter and 200 meters’ depth ancient volcano in the outskirts of Santa Brigida.

El Cortijo Club de Campo
It is located in Telde, next to the GC-1 motorway near the capital city of Las Palmas. It has a total of 18 holes, PAR 72 and is one of the longest courses in the country (6,308 mt. length). There are six lakes around it and native flora of the island, which makes it a captivating place. In addition, the club has its own restaurant, golf school, swimming pool, gym and other facilities to enjoy other sports such as tennis, paddle and horseback riding.
Las Palmeras Golf
Las Palmeras Golf is the first urban golf course of the Canary Islands, is located right in the city of Las Palmas. It has 18 holes and PAR1 3 overlooking Playa de Las Canteras. It is a fully equipped urban sports club where you can go to have a good time in the paddle and tennis courts, swimming-pool and gym. It has also got a golf school and a specialized golf and paddle shop.
Maspalomas Golf is in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, just minutes from our hotel. It is surrounded by the Natural Park of Las Dunas de Maspalomas and is ideal for playing golf all year round since the weather is good in both summer and winter. Furthermore, it has of 18 holes and PAR 73, a golf school, car rental, carts and clubs, restaurant, etc. National and international tournaments are held and visitors come from all over the World.
