Every year around Christmas time a proper competition on the Canary Islands takes place to see who draws up the most beautiful Christmas crib. In all parts of the island, the birth of Jesus is shown in the form of magnificent and impressive cribs, which are admired not only by tourists but also by locals.

The 25th anniversary of Dunas was the perfect reason for us to produce and publish, after a long time of planning and meticulous shooting program with professional models, some videos showing the history of the Dunas Group, the past, present and future of this company, as well as of its hotels.

The Dunas Club broadened its partners program and offers now even more benefits to the clients who are accommodated in the Dunas hotels. We signed a contract with a Canary company which owns different Douglas perfumeries and shops of the brand Esprit on the island of Gran Canaria.

The crib of Ingenio, which is oficially known as the biggest and most spectacular crib on the Canary Islands, has already a tradition of more than 45 years. As every year, it is organized by the Canary “Stones and Craftwork Museum”.

This year the already legendary music festival WOMAD 2010 Las Palmas takes place again in the "Santa Catalina" Park. Musicians from Mali, Cuba, Spain, Jamaica, the UK, Ethiopia, Algeria, France, Morocco, Angola, Cote d Ivoire, China, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Poland and Brasil are giving to the event an international touch, as every year.

As every year the internationally known Opera Festival Zarzuela will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is the most important event of the year for all lovers of Opera on Canary Islands.

Thanks to the numerous positive reports made by its guests, the Dunas Suites & Villas Resort achieved the high score of 8 points  out of 10 in all areas. The hotel is proud to inform that for these reasons it has been awarded as "the best apart hotel in Maspalomas" among 100 competitors.

From the 1st of July the hotel Dunas Canteras is being managed by the international Hotel chain Eurostars Hotels (company Hotusa) under the new name Eurostars Las Canteras.

The huge renovation of this hotel, that began in June 2007, is not completed yet.

This hotel, that was closed for renovation for a few months, will reopen on the 7th of July 2010.

The Festival will take place for the first time in Gran Canaria in our Hotel Dunas Mirador. People with mental health problems from different countries of Europe will attend to demand their relevance in society.
